I gotta do this more.....

There are things that you can prioritize and things you just don't think about that often. I enjoy doing this blogging thing, it's very cathartic. However, I hesitate to post often because even though I don't consider myself a negative person the thoughts that creep into my mind can easily be construed as negative. We have enough of that in the world already. I am working on that by trying to eat better, meditating more and just forcing myself to "chill" when I feel one of my turns coming on.

SO

To that end, I will endeavor from this day forward to:

  • post more regularly
  • be more positive
  • fart less (impossible, just some comic relief...no pun intended)
  • and try and spread some good in this world.

Stay tuned.....

Greater Chicago Walk: Mr. Christ Andronis - Walk to Defeat ALS®

Greater Chicago Walk: Mr. Christ Andronis - Walk to Defeat ALS®

If you click on the above link you can donate to the Walk for ALS on May 18, 2013. Any amount goes to fund research, caregiving and many more services the ALS Association provides for people afflicted with this disease. This is the third year I have participated in the Walk in memory of my brother Harry who was taken from us far too early. This is the least I can do to honor his memory.

Thank you for reading this and if you donate, thank you again.

All things must go on. I've been thinking of alot of things I could do to honor Harry's memory. A friend of mine, who also lost his brother, became an avid runner and runs every year in a marathon. It inspired me to try and do something similar and so I've decided to walk (these knees won't tolerate me running for very long) in the ALS Walk taking place May 21st @ Cantigny Park in Wheaton. I will make this a yearly event. If you are interested in supporting my jaunt, please go here and make a donation. I can not say enough great things about how the ALS Association stepped up and helped my brother during his illness. I wish the same thing for all the others stricken with this disease. It will be a good thing when there will be no need for ALS walks but until then this is just something I feel is worthwhile.

Thank you for taking the time to read this...and thank you in advance for donating.

My brother Harry passed away December 27, 2010 after a prolonged battle with ALS. I will miss him more than words can express. He lived his dreams and is now in a better place. I love you my brother....always. (wc)

Ran into a website quite by accident. The name of the company is "Blue Star Energy Solutions" and they at least offer an alternative to the big mega-utilities that currently control the power grid. Now I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that these mega-utilities do NOT have the consumers best interest as their prime objective. They make obscene amounts of money at our expense and lavish the top people with bonuses and perks that border on criminal. In any case, it's time to start changing things. The old world order was to control resources and keep people under the thumb of the "haves". There IS enough to go around, cheaply and eco-friendly like and STILL make a profit.

Greed is so passe, don't you think?

Damn....they did it. We have a championship team here in Chicago. Congratulations Hawks!!! Some people root for the Cubs...some root for the White Sox...but EVERYBODY roots for the Blackhawks and considering the sad state of affairs in Chicago baseball this summer, that's a good thing. This should carry us into the fall when football starts and no one gives a damn about whether some overpaid athletes can win a playoff game!

Enjoy the summer!
